What are in-office procedures?

Hysteroscopy

Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic procedure where your provider uses an instrument called a hysteroscope to examine your cervix or uterus. This procedure may also be used to treat certain conditions.

Cystoscopy

Cystoscopy is an endoscopy procedure to visualize the urinary bladder via the urethra. It is carried out with a cystoscope, which has lenses like a telescope or microscope.

Endometrial ablation

Endometrial ablation is a minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding. 

Peripheral nerve evaluation

Zeid Pelvic Health Center performs a peripheral nerve evaluation to determine if sacral nerve stimulation may help you gain control over your fecal or urinary incontinence. 

Bladder instillations

During bladder instillations, your provider fills your bladder with a solution, lets it sit for a set period of time, and then drains your bladder through a catheter. 

Percutaneous tibial neuromodulation (PTNS)

PTNS is a non-surgical treatment for urinary incontinence. During the in-office procedure, your provider uses a slim needle electrode to stimulate the nerve that controls the bladder and pelvic floor function to improve control.

Pessary management

A pessary is a removable device your provider places in your vagina to support your pelvic organs. It’s a non-surgical treatment for urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. 

Urodynamic studies

Urodynamic studies involve a number of tests that assess how well your bladder, urethra, and urethra sphincter work and hold and release urine.
